About us > Our Executive Team > Litha Nyhonyha

Executive Chairman

BCom (UCT), CA (SA)

Litha Nyhonyha, a passionate entrepreneur with a background in Accounting, has proven expertise in establishing businesses that continue to show positive growth. In founding Regiments Capital, Litha has demonstrated that he can turn vision, to promote empowerment within South African, in "the right way", into reality. Regiments Capital today stands as an incredible example of how critical knowledge and expertise can be applied to promote growth within the public sector space in South Africa. Born and educated in Cape Town, Litha completed his tertiary studies at the University of Cape Town. A chartered accountant since 1989, Litha completed his articles of clerkship with Ernst & Young, remained as audit manager and later moved to its corporate finance department.

Litha, (an effective team player) and business partner Vusi Khanyile established Thebe Investment Holdings in 1992 which later became South Africa’s first significant BEE investment holding company. Responsible for all acquisitions, at Thebe Investment Holdings, Litha’s innovative drive soon turned Thebe Investment Holdings’ net asset value from R100 000 to remarkably more than R100 Million. Today Thebe is a successful and mature BEE company with interests in petrochemicals, tourism, pharmaceuticals, property, and information technology. Following his union with Worldwide African Investment in 2001 to restructure the group and develop its financial services strategy, Worldwide focused its financial interests on actuarial consulting and fund administration business, NBC Holdings. In 2002, Worldwide seconded Litha to NBC to stabilise the business and return it to profitability, which he successfully did.

As a highly respected leader with a clear, focused direction, he has seen notable results throughout his 21 year career. The highlights that stand out for Litha over this period are his role in starting up Thebe Investment Holdings, his involvement at Worldwide African Investments and the establishment and successes of Regiments Capital.

Together with Niven Pillay and Eric Wood, Litha is able to achieve the ideal of developing communities in Africa through providing innovative financial advice and solutions to the public sector challenges. In so doing the Regiments Capital Executive Team contribute to the public sector to deliver on the socio-economic development of the public sector and the public sector beneficiaries – abantu ba se Mzanzi Afrika (the people of South Africa). Litha’s commitment and dedication to community development is evidenced by the time and energy he contributes in providing and implementing solutions to clients. Litha (a proven and enthusiastic mentor) and his business partners Niven and Eric have created a stable and well balanced environment where young black professionals can flourish.

His approach to management is ‘hands on’. Litha believes that this approach maintains direct contact with clients in order to build the kind of client relationships that are key to

business success. One of Litha’s key actions in this regard is to actively get to know and understand his clients through attentive listening to their concerns and challenges, and by establishing trusting long term partnerships with them.

Litha is deeply committed to the value of social entrepreneurship through which private sector experience is harnessed to support and promote delivery in the public sector. His vision is for Regiments Capital to play a meaningful role in the social, economic and infrastructural development of communities both in South Africa and in Africa in general.

It is fitting that this warm and personable individual should also be a father of five and have diverse interests such as jazz, golf (just don't discuss his handicap) and watching soccer. Litha lives in Bryanston with his wife of 17 years, Segkopi.
