Our Name
Reg-i-ment, n. An organised body of troops as a unit in the army, usually commanded by a colonel; tr.v. To put into systematic order.
The dictionary definition of 'regiment' reminds us that the word has connotations of
honour and strength as well as order and discipline. At Regiments Capital we are proud
of our African heritage and we are inspired by the legacy of Zulu warfare with its inferences of leadership, innovative strategy, unity, training and timing. As a company, we strive to live up to the promise of our name – the promise to defend and advance the interests of our clients and to lead the way forward for black economic empowerment in South Africa.
Our Logo
The Regiments Capital logo combines the African Buffalo (Syncerus caffer) and the Southern Cross (Crux) celestial constellation.
The Southern Cross is the guiding star of the Southern Hemisphere. By its pointers an accurate course can be set. It includes the Centauri Alpha, one of the brightest stars in the southern night sky. The direction of the Southern Cross is always true and it always sparkles with promise and reassurance on the southern horizon. It is an inspiration to Regiments Capital to lead with excellence.
The formidable African Buffalo is one of Africa's famous Big Five, a mighty creature of the African plains. This is a sociable animal which seeks the community of its herd and will fight fiercely to protect its own, but it is never predatory. The Buffalo is respected for its enormous strength and is legendary in hunting circles for being a clever tactician.
The Buffalo's horns represent the encircling manoeuvres of the Zulu regiments, the battle tactic for which King Shaka became renowned worldwide. The African Buffalo represents the key qualities of Regiments Capital's mission to empower and uplift the citizens of South Africa, and to contribute to a better life for all.
