Regiments Capital is a leading black empowerment player in the South African financial services industry. Founded as a registered company in August of 2004 Regiments Capital is jointly owned by its founders, Litha Nyhonyha, Eric Wood and Niven Pillay.
As a strong new BEE company, Regiments Capital has the advantage of hands-on control by its directors. “Our professional and empowerment credentials have enabled us to foster strong relationships with stakeholders in all three spheres of government and other leading State Owned Enterprises” says Litha Nyhonyha. Each member of the current management team brings a wealth of expertise and very established relationships in both the private and public sector.
Despite Regiments Capital’s relative ‘youth’ the Executive Management understands the need for a visible social responsibility policy. Regiments Capital extends its empowerment ethos to its clients, encouraging them to become active partners in solutions and encouraging their commitment to building a stronger, more economically viable South Africa for all.
Regiments Capital has an empowerment model which focuses on equitable development of black intellectual capital and also encourages freedom of thought and creativity. We pride ourselves on our staff complement represented by the best of breed in black intellectual capital, and our empowerment model aims to build their depth of skills and resources and prepare them for management and leadership within the company.
The result is innovation and flexibility in solving problems, a dynamic diversity of solutions, and an ever widening range of clients.
Regiments Capital is different to other BEE groups in that it is not a typical holding company with no clients and no income stream. Its business model is to provide a combination of related financial services to its range of clients and to invest in proprietary business as detailed later in this document. A prime outcome of this business model is that Regiments Capital is not generally susceptible to the cash flow challenges that are experienced by some of the more established empowerment groups.
